Obsidian Gua Sha

Volcanic glass, polished to a full black mirror. Obsidian is the sleekest tool here and the one that stays coldest longest — ten minutes in the fridge and the contrast against warm skin is the entire appeal. The surface is completely non-porous, so nothing soaks in and it wipes clean in seconds.

Best for: cold-first routines, and anyone who wants something genuinely unisex.

The three-minute ritual

1. Prep. Clean skin, then a few drops of facial oil or a slippery serum. The stone should glide — if it drags, you need more oil, not more pressure.
2. Sweep. Hold it almost flat against your skin. Work outward from the centre of the face: jaw to ear, cheek to temple, brow to hairline. Three slow passes each side.
3. Finish. Light strokes down the side of the neck toward the collarbone. Rinse, pat dry, done.

Care
