Lyquora Glow Oil™
The step that makes every other step work.
Four cold-pressed oils, one purpose: give your hands and your tools enough slip to move fluid without dragging skin. Single ingredient, no fragrance, no fillers, in amber glass because light degrades oil.
The problem
You bought the gua sha. You used it twice on almost-dry skin, it tugged, it felt scratchy, you noticed a bit of redness, and it has been in a drawer since March.
That is not a you problem. It is a slip problem. Skin needs a genuine lubricating layer for a stone to glide across it — not a moisturiser that has already absorbed, and not a serum that goes tacky after forty seconds. Without it you are pulling at the skin instead of moving what is underneath it.
The other version of this problem: your skin drinks moisturiser and still feels tight by lunchtime. Most creams are mostly water. Water evaporates. What holds it in is lipid, and most routines are short on it.
The solution
A cold-pressed oil does two jobs at once. It gives you five to seven minutes of workable slip — long enough for a full gua sha routine — and then it absorbs into the lipid barrier rather than sitting on top like a film.
Cold-pressed matters. Heat extraction is cheaper and higher yield, but it degrades the fatty acids and antioxidants that make the oil worth using. Ours are pressed without heat and bottled in amber glass, unfragranced and undiluted.
What you can expect
- Effortless glide — your gua sha or roller moves the way it is supposed to, with no drag and no scratch
- Softer skin by morning — noticeable from the first night, particularly on cheeks and around the mouth
- A calmer barrier — less tightness, less flaking, less of that stripped feeling after cleansing
- A natural finish, not a shine — three to four drops is plenty; more is not better
- Multi-use value — the same bottle works on cuticles, dry ends and elbows
What it will not do: treat acne, fade pigmentation or replace an active. It is a barrier and slip product, and it is very good at being one.
How to use it
- Cleanse and leave skin slightly damp. Oil seals in whatever is underneath it, so a little residual water is an advantage.
- Three to four drops into your palm. Warm it between your hands for a second — it spreads much further warm.
- Press, do not rub. Palms flat, press over cheeks, forehead, jaw and neck.
- Then reach for your tool. Gua sha, roller or fingers. You have five to seven minutes of good slip.
- Leave it. Do not wipe off the excess — it absorbs within about ten minutes.
Order of operations: oil goes last in a night routine, after any water-based serum. If you use retinol, apply it first, wait five minutes, then oil on top — it buffers the irritation considerably.
Why customers reorder this one
Because it is the bottle that actually runs out. Three drops a night from a 60 ml bottle lasts roughly three to four months, and it is the step people notice missing the moment they skip it — the tool drags and the routine stops feeling good.
Choosing your oil
- Jojoba — start here if you are unsure. Technically a wax ester rather than an oil, which is why it sits so close to what skin produces itself. Non-comedogenic, suits almost everyone, no scent to speak of.
- Rosehip — the one that does something beyond slip. Naturally high in linoleic acid and provitamin A, with a faintly earthy smell. Best for dullness and uneven tone. Keep it cool; it oxidises faster than the others.
- Argan — the multi-tasker. Rich enough to soften dry patches, light enough that it does not sit on the surface. The same bottle works on hair ends and cuticles.
- Sweet Almond — the mildest here, and the usual recommendation for skin that reacts to everything. Unscented, no actives, nothing clever. Note: avoid if you have a nut allergy.

Questions
I have oily skin. Will this make it worse?
Usually the opposite. Skin that is stripped of lipid often overproduces to compensate. Start with two drops at night only and give it two weeks. Jojoba is the safest choice of the four.
Will it clog my pores?
Jojoba, Rosehip and Sweet Almond all rate very low on comedogenicity. Argan is slightly richer. If you are actively breaking out, choose Jojoba and apply only at night.
How many drops for a full gua sha routine?
Three to four. If the stone starts to grip halfway through, you used too few — add one more rather than pressing harder.
Can I use it under makeup?
One drop, pressed in, ten minutes before primer. Any more and foundation will slide.
Why amber glass instead of a nicer clear bottle?
Because UV light breaks down fatty acids and clear glass would look better while making the product worse. Amber blocks most of it.
It smells like nothing. Is that right?
Yes, apart from Rosehip which has a faint natural earthiness. We do not add fragrance — it is the most common cause of irritation in skincare and it does nothing for your skin.
