Amethyst Gua Sha

Deep violet, quietly dramatic. Amethyst is the stone most people choose for the end of the day — it looks like something that belongs on a nightstand rather than shoved in a drawer. The colour runs from pale lilac to near-black depending on where the piece was cut, and the polish gives it a faint glassiness that moves beautifully over serum.

Best for: an evening wind-down routine.

The three-minute ritual

1. Prep. Clean skin, then a few drops of facial oil or a slippery serum. The stone should glide — if it drags, you need more oil, not more pressure.
2. Sweep. Hold it almost flat against your skin. Work outward from the centre of the face: jaw to ear, cheek to temple, brow to hairline. Three slow passes each side.
3. Finish. Light strokes down the side of the neck toward the collarbone. Rinse, pat dry, done.

Care

Rinse in warm water with a mild soap after each use and dry with a soft cloth. Chill it in the fridge if you like the cold. Natural stone, so expect small variations in colour and veining — yours will not look exactly like the photo, and that is rather the point.
