Pale and faintly iridescent, opal shifts between cream, blush and soft blue depending on how the light catches it. It is the most delicate-looking stone in the collection and the one most often bought as a gift. Light in the hand, too, which suits a gentler touch around the eyes and brow.

Best for: gifting, and lighter pressure.

The three-minute ritual

  1. Prep. Clean skin, then a few drops of facial oil or a slippery serum. The stone should glide — if it drags, you need more oil, not more pressure.
  2. Sweep. Hold it almost flat against your skin. Work outward from the centre of the face: jaw to ear, cheek to temple, brow to hairline. Three slow passes each side.
  3. Finish. Light strokes down the side of the neck toward the collarbone. Rinse, pat dry, done.

Care

Rinse in warm water with a mild soap after each use and dry with a soft cloth. Chill it in the fridge if you like the cold. Natural stone, so expect small variations in colour and veining — yours will not look exactly like the photo, and that is rather the point.
