Squalane Face Moisturizer

One lightweight squalane base, five different actives on top. Squalane is the carrier because it is light, stable and about as unlikely to irritate as a moisturizer ingredient gets. Pick the variant by what you actually want it to do.

Which formula

• Hyaluronic acid — plain hydration. Start here if you are unsure.
• Sodium hyaluronate + lactate — hydration with a mild surface exfoliant.
• Retinol + squalane — evening use only, and build up slowly. Wear SPF the next day.
• Fruit acid + salicylic acid — for congestion and blackheads.
• Caffeine + tea polyphenols — for puffiness, mornings.

• Apply after cleansing, before oil

Patch test any new active on your inner arm for a couple of days first, particularly the retinol and the acid formulas. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to a doctor before using retinol.
